2 best moves by the Green Bay Packers in 2021 NFL Draft

In the midst of the quarterback drama with Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers had to have a good 2021 NFL draft. While it may not be an ideal situation in Green Bay right now, they should be looking forward to the new players coming to the team. The Packers have seemed to fill every position of need and if they are able to keep Rodgers they are primed for a Super Bowl run.

While it was a very quiet free agency for the Packers they were able to re-sign key players. Although it’s not an addition re-signing running back Aaron Jones, and left tackle David Bakhtiari is important for them remaining competitive. They now have locked up a franchise running back and tackle for multiple years. The Rodgers rumors have taken all of the media’s attention away from the solid overall off-season the Packers have had.

2. Wide receiver Amari Rodgers

Even though it is not a first round receiver, the Packers needed to draft a legit wide receiver 2. Davante Adams has solidified himself as a top wide out in the NFL but they haven’t had a legit great receiver alongside him since Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb. Amari Rodgers has the talent to do that as many have compared him to a Cobb like player. His speed and ball tracking ability will allow him to make a instant impact for this team. He has great footwork and that will help him grow into a better route runner. Giving Aaron Rodgers another weapon through Amari Rodgers will be key if they are going to make another deep playoff run. He will be an exciting player for Packers fans to watch for years to come.

The best Packers NFL draft move:

1. Cornerback Eric Stokes

With a lack of depth at corner it was vital for Green Bay to get another corner in they did so with their first round pick. Stokes will be a great corner number 2 with Jaire Alexander on the other side of the field. Stokes is a scheme fit and should be able to transition easily into the NFL. He brings a certain versatility also that many people don’t possess as he can play in the slot or on the outside. Stokes is also a solid press corner and even when beat has the make up speed to make a play on the ball. He isn’t a great run tackler but in the scheme the Packers run it shouldn’t be much of an issue for him.

With an improved defense in the draft they now have a chance to become one of the top defenses in the NFL. The secondary will be elite if Stokes plays up to his potential. They already have Jaire Alexander, Adrian Amos, and Darnell Savage Jr. solidified and the addition of Stokes will make it even better. Kevin King was also re-signed in the off-season and although he has ups and downs, as a third corner he will be solid.

If Aaron Rodgers decides to stay, these two picks will help them reach Super Bowl contention.
